Chrome on Windows is Scanning Your PC Due to a Bug - fosdickgagainfoute
Google Chrome might be at the top when it comes to web browsers, but information technology does have its have clear share of bugs. Accordant to a past report from Engadget, Chromium-plate is scanning users' Windows PCs due to a potential beleaguer. The report highlights that Google introduced a few antivirus capabilities to Chromium-plate last year, which causes the browser to run down the user's smooth download history upon inauguration.
I was questioning why my Canarytoken (a file folder) was triggering & discovered the perpetrator was chrome.exe. Turns out @googlechrome softly began performing AV scans on Windows devices live fall. Wtf m8? This isn't a system dir, either, it's in Documents pic.twitter.com/IQZPSVpkz7

Followed up with @swagitda_ and it turns out the log events weren't CCT scans. Chrome existence-checks (write in code below) previously downloaded files, but a bug moved the checks into the startup track. Clearing download history stops the checks. If you're experiencing the issue, the problem has a kind of smooth solution. The news report states that:
"If you are striking this release and you want a fix right now past go to chrome://downloads in your browser, go to the menu in the cover right, and select Guiltless Every last. That will clear Chrome's lean of downloaded files so that IT won't have any files to existence-jibe at startup. If you have a large list of downloaded files then this will amend startup time slimly."
Even though there's a simple solution, not everyone would be willing to clear out their entire download history due to a possible bug. The news report adds that the Chrome growing squad is currently working to skip the check entirely in a future update, but until then users will ingest to clear their download account if they preceptor't wishing their organization to decompres.
